Young Entrepreneur Launches Business

Mr Lebohang Anthony Nyandeni, The Entrepreneur

By Moeketsi Montshitsi

The launch of the Start-up Entrepreneurship Academy saw many young and aspiring professionals attend the event on 3 March at VUT Southern Gauteng Science and Technology Park (VUT SGSTP).

This was the first-ever event created by the youth and supported by the youth.

The academy is the brainchild of entrepreneur is Lebohang Anthony Nyandeni, who comes from a family of six in Evaton. He joined the seventh cohort of the VUT/Sasol Entrepreneurship Programme in 2017 and was one of its top ten “highfliers” last year.

After the completion of the programme, he registered his business. The thinking behind his Start-up Entrepreneurship Academy is to assist people who want to start businesses but have no clue as to where to start and how to register. He wants to train people to write business plans and assist them to register at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).

He says he would like his academy to be incubated at the VUT SGSTP, where he is negotiating with management, because he believes that the premises are full of entrepreneurs and go-getters who need this type of assistance. From here he can also target people around the Vaal and surrounding areas to support his business.

Lebohang was the ABI Eco Champion of the year in 2004 when he led a group of recyclers from his school in a national competition. In 2016 he won the Young Community Shapers Award and became its ambassador for the 2016/2017 season.

He believes that he will make his dream come true because he was trained at VUT and believes that the inspiration and quality of information he acquired can take him places.
