Schalk and I (Doctor) are at the moment in Umzimkulu, Kwazulu-Natal (30 March-09 April 2010). We are real moved by the eagerness of the local successful youths (working in big cities like Durban.....) who are ploughing back to their communities and starting projects like Vukani Lisile Ma Africa or Wake Up,, it is sundawn Africans. Here we have the heroes like Dikela who runs the non-profitable community computer centre in Ibisi, Advocate Sandile Khuboni who is also starting a computer centre at the local school in kwa-james, Squeeze who is running the successful soccer team called Rietvlei Liverpool, Monica who is doing great with Life skills and netball team at the local schooll where she teaches, Chester who is running life skills projects,, netball team in Ibisi, Small fish FC in Umzumkulu, Young Guns FC.... the list goes on and on. And these guys are local heroes and they all all work as a joint team. They invited us for braai and I could feel the sense of family, brotherhood and sisterhood. We are creating more friendships with the local projects, soccer teams, netball team etc. The days seem to go faster hence we finish our days normally at about 8pm.

yes, i agree with Doc. Projects like ours should never replace or undermine good local effort, that is why we take hands with guys and girls who already show their commitment and effort. Thanx to Dikele for food, hospitality and DSTV. Watching in his house Arsenal and Chiefs won!
