When was the last time you directed a small act of kindness towards yourself?
A little self-care goes a long way. Not only can it be measured in the obvious feel-good way, but also in terms of the long term benefit of connecting to your true self.
Remember all of life is love and connectivity. When you’re centred in your heart, you are loving, open, kind and connected to all there is. This must extend to the way you think about yourself, talk about (and to) yourself, and the way you treat yourself.
Taking time to listen to what you really need, then honouring it, is a simple act of self-care that honours your inner voice and nurtures your true self. When you’re restored and nurtured, you have more to offer those around you too – and so the gift of self-care keeps on giving.
When life gets hectic (and let’s face it, who’s life isn’t?), those little acts of kindness towards yourself are often the first to fall by the wayside. You fall to the bottom of your own to do list, running yourself ragged trying to do it all, trying to be productive… yet, this only depletes you further, and takes you further away from your true self (and therefore your best life).
Taking care of yourself is productive work. And it leads to more productive work.
