Reach Sports and Youth Zones Leadership Camp

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting and engaging 14 Youth Zone community champions. We had participants from 5 YZ sites. the aim of the camp was to to share knowledge, develop leadership skills and overcome personal challenges.

I was inspired by the work that we are all doing in our communities and how in spite of massive challenges there are still champions who are making communities better through sport.

Leadership is an ongoing action and we are constantly learning new ways of becoming better leaders. In working with youth I have realised that at times we are so focused on the 'leadership skills' that we forget the challenges facing individuals.
