You arrive into this world as a blank page. From there, you either write your own story or hand the pen to someone else to write it for you.
I am not ashamed or never have been ashamed of my upbringing, rather I find joy in sharing how I was raised and where I grew up. I grew in an impoverished family, a story of almost every young black person in South Africa or born in Africa. For the longest time, I have struggled to pick anything positive within my community, I allowed myself to believe that the minority in my community defines it.
Later, I realised that I'm based in a community with so many resources, one being the humble people, two lands, three raw sports grounds, four talents. It is sad because all the available resources are dimmed by the bad things that happen to be in the eye of people.
I am glad I was able to pick the positive over the negative.
