Creating a better Mzansi through sport and development
My love for media started long time ago, i always admired the voice behind the mic every time i tune in to a radio station and told myself that one-day i want to see myself behind the mic doing what the other presenters are doing. and seeing the power that radio has in reaching out to large number of people from all parts of the world with the way it is, is a good platform to can use it to raise issues that are of serious concern to the communities.
with that the wonderful things radio do i attended a diversity gathering in university of Pretoria where young people from different communities and racial groups where present i had i little chat with one girl from Germany her name is Juli Hallo it was interesting for me to seat and chat with her about the difference that we as young people from different walks of life have on each other while she was talking about that one girl not far from where we were seating she can next to us there was this one friend of mine they wanted to interview one black person and there where many black people around and she told the guy that ''your the only black person that i know '' this statement really made this German girl to feel somehow and went straight and tell the girl who said that she said i feel bad for u really even now after democracy your still having that stereotype mentality. after what i witnessed and also her what she saw she told me this is what i see happening to many people in south Africa they are still stereotyped based on colour.
she thought of media to raise awareness about this issue so that the message can reach out to large number of people and with that we are hosting a BRIDGES CAMP in January for blacks, white , colourds and Indians so that we can remove the stereotype among each other and live together as one big family.
we are using Mams Fm to do this and i see this as a step for me to really get what i really loved from long time we started coming to the show last week Wednesday me and her and also today we where there i use this as an opportunity for me to shine who knows maybe one day i can have my own show here. so happy to have met this girl on top of that i did radio broadcasting with Laureus at WITS so happy......we are taking over
