My simple definition of leadership is whereby someone leads and others are being led.

The good question would be, who is to lead and who is to be led?
A leader can be anyone who is willing to lead but a good leader will be someone who:

-is a good follower
-is not afraid to lead
-can lead himself
-is not selfish and self centered
-is Bold enough to lead anyone
-is a good communicator and
-is ready to lead.

Everyone is a leader and everyone is a follower.
I am a leader because I'm leading myself and
I am a follower because I'm following my very own leadership.

There is nothing in this world that can be compared to the relationship between your brain and your actions.
I am saying this with confidence because your thoughts breeds the outcomes of your actions.

From what I just said we can conclude that our thoughts serves as a leader to our actions!

That is how self leadership is being formed.

A positive thinking breeds positive outcomes and so does a group of people that is being positively led.

My point of it all is that you do not need a group of people to test or demonstrate your leadership capabilities but you have yourself to lead and should you do it right, then there will be a group of people that is willing to be led by you.
