I have been in Helderberg for four days, and I encountered two racial attacks from the Somerset West mall and industrial area while with the kids from Lwandle Township. Most people walk around with either stereotyped mind about blacks, or have fear after hearing about the crime or being victim but it takes a wise man and courage not to put blue print in everyone. The kids I was with are the squatter camp kids who were eating in a fancy restuarant for first time in their lives, for someone because of either being insecured or stereotyped or fear, to come out and be racist to these innocent kids who are looking for hope or to be loved or paid attention is important than anything in life. Before we complain about crime or government we rather think twice about how much damage we are causing to create more criminals by saying they dont belong in a fancy restuarant or deserve anything good and make crime as their alternative. I am a young black South African and I am saying this because I was fortunate to have guys around me who encouraged me and gave me hope. We need each other in South Africa black or white. Rather than complaining about the system or commit more crime, we know what is good for our country so is better to put more energy on what is good. Lets stop complaining or blaming and take positive steps. If one knows did a blunder or stupid thing is better to come and open up about and move on. Being attacked racially or attack racially makes a particular product or I can you are planting seed in someone or oneself. Think twice or million times before we act. A prisoner know that he murdered someone thats why he is going for life sentence. But there are lot of us who are going around not aware how many people we are murdering unaware.
