It was once again a good experience in terms of visiting one of our site Somerset East in order to learn and get along with other leaders. It was a small group of youthzones leaders consisting of six leaders from different site visiting the place to see, learn and teach our fellow leaders at Somerset about the life skills, engaging in terms of football and having to go to prisons in order to spread word of encouragement and hope to convicts. The group consist of myself, Tseko, Lindo, Dino, Cyril, and Doc our mentor and commander in chief. We learnt so much and we taught so much and made contact with other whom they got interested in engaging with us more especially the kids. The place is too small that most of the people know each other what, where, whom, meaning almost everything about you. It is place that sport especially football is loved and supported by the community, the only problem is they use soccer matches as their entertainment that should there be soccer games people come in numbers to the games only to find out that they consume too much alcohol there and after getting drunk they fight amongst each other which is not good to the community. My highlight of the trip was been able and got an opportunity to play with kids and one of the best football academy team and had to make so close and very emotional connection with them that the time we left the place people where emotional to see us leave that it taught us many things that we did was appreciated by people and we opened most eyes of the people that there is still hope after all and by engaging with positive minded people things can be better not to say that we are all perfect but trying is better than not doing anything. Somerset East is a great place that one day I will visit by myself because of the beauty and the great community it is.
