What a wonderful day I had on the 24th Septermber in one of our sites in Zenzele Informal Settlement. Our very own Youthzones long time leader Disebo Makau. She runs a Soccer and Netball Teams including being a single mom and an Enterpreneur.

Zenzele Heritage Tournament included Under 13/15 Soccer and Netball Teams around the community and neighbouring communities.

One of my highlights of the day was seeing how happy the kids were enjoying themselves playing soccer and netball some watching sports and dancing.

As a National Coordinator I have learned that in promoting mutual respect and tolerance, sports teaches important social and interpersonal skills. Using sports to help people, especially youth, has proven to be an effective tool in keeping them from falling into a cycle of anti-social behavior, violence, crime and illegal substance use.

Well done Disebo Makau and your assistants everything was just great.
