Personal fulfillment is achieved by sewing one’s own clothing through investment, control, and empowerment. All women expressed that sewing brought them joy and had a positive impact on their lives. Sewing provided these women a source of happiness that was completely their own. The positive sense of well-being provided by sewing offered participants an escape from reality that personally benefited them.
