Is one thing to try to impact the community or trying to stop violence while back somewhere at the office trying to see the root cause and find a way to help to stop the fight or using some pyscho-socio strategies or academic correlations. Is another thing when one see these things when staying in the community, exposed to it. It affects me. And secondly what is the message sent accross to the children who are exposed to it. In my one 6 days visit in Somerset East I was exposed to one of the…

At school, university, colleges .... or I can say academic life, we normally go for lessons, tuts or practicals so we can be ready for a test or exam. So is lesson first and then test after. But in life is other way around or vice versa.I saying this continuing from my last blog concerning Helderberg encounter. What we do in life wherever whenever whatever it simply impact someone or I can we plant a particular seed in someone 's life. Sometimes the fruits are positive or sometimes are…

I have been in Helderberg for four days, and I encountered two racial attacks from the Somerset West mall and industrial area while with the kids from Lwandle Township. Most people walk around with either stereotyped mind about blacks, or have fear after hearing about the crime or being victim but it takes a wise man and courage not to put blue print in everyone. The kids I was with are the squatter camp kids who were eating in a fancy restuarant for first time in their lives, for someone…

I did everything that i could do for my community but i didnt have such huge faith that i have right now. i first met Doc nd Schalk on their visit here in Helderberg before the world cup, we just talk nd talk until i discovered my love for the place, i mean the predicaments we face, the victories we didnt celebrate nd the oportunities we have. so far they have assisted us on our 3 teams, thts Golden Arrows, Strand Manchester United nd Mighty Pioneers with soccer balls, bibs and few sessions…

Here in Lwandle and Nonzamo Squatter Camp we did a huge campaign organised by Inyanda Youth Organisation under Nkosi and Lwandle Museum about stopping Xenophobia in our areas. We were responding to some threats and attacks made by the public and we convinced people not to go ahead but the minority refuse as usual and there was also an extended meeting by SANCO in Asanda Village but it was not controllable, people were swearing at each other and the meeting stopped. We as young people wont…

How the people on sites are benefiting or growing from the project is beyond my description or one 's assessing till be part of them. I cant even record all the sms 'es, emails or calls not only to say thank you but to update about the progress in developing and benefits, joy etc and how freely we are with our work or friendships with them. One thing I admire about our project and make it somehow exception is that it gives freely and not manipulatively. I for one I see this people out there…
