Voting 18 May

I just voted. Luckily the queues were not too long and it went quick, but I was willing to stand there for 3 or 4 hours.

Our country is a democracy and the most powerful thing we have is the ability for each citizen to make a cross. That is the foundation of everything. If a person does not vote they have no right to complain or to demand.

So, I want to provoke and say there are two groups of South Africans: those citizens who vote and are part of the process and those who do…

Mindset partners with Youthzones

On 12 May at Oasis in Cosmo City a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Mindset and Youthzones.

The purpose is to work together in providing academic support to high school learners. Mindset already contributes with a flatscreen TV, satelite dish and DVD's for all youthzones!

We are looking forward to a great relationship over the coming years, benefiting the youths at all our sites, and thus benefiting the development of our country.…

Real SA in action

I could not stop thinking about one of the most remarkable encounter in my life where the guys and girls from Sandton and successful (working for Convergence Partners) were mingling and having good times with the champs from Siyabuswa and Libangeni. They all played football in a bushy and thorny field, falling everywhere tackling each other, making jokes and the girls hanging out with the other girls and using open roof toilets and teaching each other computers. They shared KFC together.… Continue

Arsenal Gap Year

Two Arsenal Gap Year community coaches were in Manica, Mozambique for four months volunteering. Adam Tarant and Drew Tyler spent their time coaching youth football, English, Life-Skills and Computer Literacy.

"Volunteering here was life-changing experience for me, I will definitely be back" said Adam.

After manica, they also visited and did coaching at Nkomazi with coach Zero and the Academy in Kamaqekeza. "Fantastic work, the kids are so teachable and play at a higher…

the saturday of the easter weekend

On the 23rd of April a 5 a side tournament was hosted in Cosmo City Ext 6, by the island, where Islanders FC refine their skills and draw community members together to support “super diski”.

The aim of the tournament was firstly, to unify all people of Cosmo (Taxi drivers, Soccer teams, shop owners and Taverns by indulging in South Africa’s favourite pass time: playing/watching soccer. And secondly to fundraise for soccer boots, shin pads and other soccer…

Where is justice?

When will this desperate or 'ambitious' people ever stop destroying for the kids/youth out there. There is nothing foolish than when an older persons who are being hungry for long time and see some kind of the development in the community and come to distract to get attention and thinking he will get the piece of cake which is not there because real development is not about taking the money in the name of the poor or tags or the chest rather be with the people and love them and live with them… Continue

There is LIFE inside there .....

On my recent visit home (irrespective of the circumstances which will always be there good or bad depending on how we want to be like or make out of it), I did not know how to respond (hold myself for the first time) to the mixed up feeling I had. Excitement and hurting at the same time. Good news and bad news. But overall is all good depending on me and my family how we make out of the situation rather say how willing are we. Coming back to the issue of good news and bad news. I was deeply… Continue

Be careful of scam/spam : Youthzone website invitation or emails!

Hi familia.

I  hope you guys are doing great. Please be careful of people who send a comment to you and asking them to email them privately and promises you big bucks or heaven. And they are sick people who are even finding the way through in our beautiful networking website. I had to delete some of them as members and they are there to make things go wrong or get your money if you have any. Please dont dish out your vital info like ID number or address etc to strangers. These people…

never give up

giving up in life is a sign of failure to face challenges that God put to test your faith .Most people end up using drugs, involved in criminal acts only bcos they dont want to face the challenges ahead of them.life is a journey where only those that are patient, have faith will reach their destination. The good life that we are looking for is found behind the hardship .all that happens in life happens for a good reason perseviarance is the mother of succes ,the harder you work the luckier you…

Feedback from Teramai after Manica Mutare Exchange

Hi bro

The exchange game with our friends from Manica (GDM) went on very, very well. It was so refreshing to meet with all those friends, the likes of Nelson, Waru Waru and that music guy!! It was also good to see the re-union of Bruce, Pingi and myself as we took time to remind each other of our unforgettable 2010 World Cup experiences!!! We also laughed it out as we remembered Waru Waru's "World Cup" experience at the RSA border!! We cried…

Believing but I cant sit and wait!

All along in my life I have being doing big mistakes of believing and hoping things one day will get better. I have being stereotyped living out of fear, insecurities, low-cofidence.  I have been watching things going from worse to worst hoping one day things will get better and believing in it. As much ADIDAS say : "Impossible is nothing" or Sony says "Believe" is very important to consider Nedbank 's Slogan which say "make things happen" or the latest : "Success doesn't come to those who sit… Continue

Nothing done or no one is there!

In life is good and very important to have a vision and plan and organize everything in order. It depends how long you take on the planning and organizing. Because in 20 minutes given in our lives, we use 18 minutes talking around the meeting table and 2 minutes on actions hence less work or no work done. And the danger is that most of us who we spend hours and hours planning a meeting by the time we go to the meeting there is no one. Some of us are useless when our mouths are closed because we… Continue

DIRECTION

Driving throught the beautiful landscapes of the Eastern Cape, enroute to the Free State. One thing is going through my mind, I can't help but feel in limbo, I'm neither here nor there. I ask myself how many people are in limbo, in all the places I've been to in last 3months, I've met people who are 'nor here nor there'. There is one thing though that is certain is I'm heading to the Free State, when I'll get there (only the GPS know) all I know is I will get there, come rain, snow, storm etc I… Continue

IT FEELS GOOD TO SEE EVERYONE HAPPY

Kamaqchekeza is now a well developing place and also the people themselves, now everyone in the community has hope. You can see that in their eyes that this people are happy and alive you know, waking up everyday with a smile, always looking forward to the next day.

I am very happy and Graetfull that the youthzone came to our lives and giving our communities a good chance like this to see the other good side of the world, and also to discover new things in life.

Enthusiasm leads to achievement

The great accomplishments of man have resulted from the transmission of ideas and enthusiasm. Knowledge is power and enthusiasm is the switch. There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened.

We all have a choice.

You decide what type of person you want to be.

I have always chosen to be in the first group in order to achieve in live. Big up

Evaton North Sports Tournament

We always say the real heroes are not easily seen because they are busy doing something good and are continuing doing good out there. Not sitting around talking and polliticising everything coming across their nostrils or spending millions of hours on meetings. The Qedelizwe H. School tournament went well and big ups to heroes and heroins like Papa, Lucky, Simon, Mahlatsi, Clara, Juliet and the school at large. Above all big thank you to Youthzone team (Masi, Doc, Schalk and Emien) and ABI for… Continue

An ode to all the bloggers

Everyody has pro's and con's about them, most try to heighten their pro's and work on their con's transforming them to pro's. Along the way we might struggle with our con's...a lesson never learnt is the same mistake made in the future. Learning takes patience and is your choice to make whereby the only person risking a loss (of information) is you. I love the fact that everytime I login to youthzones I find life lessons, and I'm motivated to better myself in all regards.

Thank you

I ....... dont want to wait again.....!

At school, I always go to class and learn a lesson and from there I go for the test or exam. So is lesson first and test after. But with life is vice versa. Test first and lesson after. I have being hoping, waiting and working hard and hoping that things one day will turn good in different situations in my life. But actually since I was born I have been trying to catch a fish by preparing fishing rod, baits, lines  .... in dry land, practising how to throw the line, how to look the baits while… Continue
