Being so paranoid about making mistakes to a point where we don't actually make decisions is a fundamentally problematic leadership style. There's a different between failing at something specific and being a failure. We have to accept that in life we are not going to make the right calls all the time, there'll be instances where we make wrong calls. The key to success is to making more of the right decisions than bad ones. We need to knows why we failed at something and learn from it.

We must be careful of the clutter: firstly the clutter of the mind and secondly, the clutter of collecting things whether that's information or titles or degrees. Somewhere in that clutter we must find our own niche and our own space. Once we find our own space we must relate to other people but we must also give them the benefit of the doubt because they are entitled to their own ways of seeing the world.

The positive thing about younger people around our communities is that they think being a manager or being the soccer team owner is cool. In essence they think its cool to be in charge, which means they dream big. But they need to realize that they will never be in charge if they are just sitting around and doing nothing for themselves.
