I gave you life, but cannot live it for you
I can teach you things, but I cannot be there to lead you
I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you
I can allow you freedom, but I cannot account for it
I can take you to church, but I cannot make you believe
I can teach right from wrong, but I cannot always decide for you
I can buy you beautiful clothes, but I cannot make you beautiful inside
I can offer you advice, but I cannot…

Hi people. I'm a Teacher in Sharpeville and I live here too. Seeing Sharpeville turning from a struggle monumental village to an alleged home of the Satanist cult ie "Dhlomo Dam', is such a disappointment.
Kids threaten their teachers that they will put spells on them and that makes working with these kids these days a hell of a lot difficult.
Young men are packed in prisons and are proud to say they come from Sharpeville for they gain respect in that way, Is This how we…

Since youthzones came into our township, I have been stop left, right and centre - and asked about this massive organisation that need to make change in our location. I tell them about the opportunities available in it and the responsibility they have to take to lift the community.
But there is this problem I have experienced since from young age about our people in Intabazwe, they expect a person who bring this things to them to wear suits and drive expensive cars or even speaks…

The taem have done very well this season managed to be second position on the League. Excelent perfomance and we were crowned team of the Season with exceptional peformance. Not forgeting our big friends Youthzones, the USB's you gave to us, with football tacticts, particular exercises for a paticular reason, Set pieces and many more such as skills to penetrate the defenders. All of that played a role itself. We are so greatfull to be within Youthzones is Fruitfull.

We had a dialogue that we followed to improve brandvlei through ideas. We discussed the problems that we encounter as the residence of Badirile location. As suggested by the youth of Brandvlei that the companies around our are should give to the community since our parents worke and still employed to those companies. Even in religious areas they should add some value since they can bless us with their offerings. In conclusion the government can too help since we were able to stand up for…

I love what I’m doing. I love the youth I’m developing. I love the whole thing about it. Once again, I have to really look at it for the next three years and say, “Am I doing it for the right reasons?” ‘Cause all I want to do is make history at this point. They got to pay me to make history of course. But that’s my goal. I want to sit there with people really into making history. I mean everybody. I don’t mean just youth. The interns -if everybody’s not committed to making history…

The Youthzones staff was lucky to spend a morning with Merle Friedman (PH.D) and we had the chance to talk about life-skills and life change. What struck me is how friendly and appreciative Merle was, not showing off her knowledge, but encouraging us and helping us carefully. A few things stood out: Always focus on the positive, discuss and look at strengths of a person, not weaknesses. Also, try to help people not to make mistakes that will lead to shame, most people already feel bad…
